Our travel teams competed in their first tournaments this past weekend. At Jacksonville Skyline, we dedicate the majority of our training time in the first couple months of the club season to fundamental skill work- with just a small touch of offensive and defensive systems.
Our primary focus and goal of the club is to get each of our athletes as technically sound as possible so that their skills can translate to wherever they are playing in the following season: be it middle school or high school. With this focus, we do our best to ensure that our athletes are prepared to play in ANY system and as they continue through the program, this will be essential for those with goals of playing in college.
That being said, we did see some great team performances this past weekend.
- Both our 12 Royal and 14 Black teams finished 2nd in Gold in their tournaments at PVA down in Lake Helen
- At the local Jax Jam Regional Ranking Tournament, we saw 3rd place Gold Bracket finishes from both 14 Royal and 16 Royal, while 15 Royal finished 5th in Gold
It was a great weekend and we look forward to playing in two weekends In Tallahassee!
